Highlands of Scotland Wedding at Achnagairn Castle

Filed under:

There’s something undeniably special about a destination wedding, especially when it’s built with intention from the very beginning. Jessica and Zach’s intimate Highlands of Scotland wedding at Achnagairn Castle was just that. With just 30 of their closest friends and family, they created a wedding experience that felt deeply personal, immersive, and unforgettable. The couple had never visited Scotland before, and they relied on the talented, White Heather Events, who flawlessly planned and executed everything in just a little over five months. The result was a wedding weekend that felt equal parts relaxed and elevated.

Jessica and Zach’s love story began during the pandemic after meeting on the app The League. What started as a long-distance connection eventually brought them back together in New York City, where their relationship continued to grow into what it is today.

To celebrate their wedding day, they thoughtfully chose who they wanted to share this time with. They made sure each guest in attendance was representative of a different chapter of their lives. Jessica and Zach wanted a multi-day, intentional wedding experience for their guests. Their wedding weekend at Achnagairn Castle included a whiskey tasting, clay pigeon shooting on the estate grounds, a traditional bagpiper performance, and even a murder mystery activity that brought everyone together in such a fun, unexpected way. They created an immersive and memorable experience for all their loved ones who came to celebrate their Highlands of Scotland wedding.

The Wedding Details

The couple’s design choices perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the Highlands. Jessica’s bouquet and the reception florals featured soft, romantic hues that complemented the grand backdrop of the castle and the overall design.

Between the castle’s architecture, the stunning formal gardens, and the wooded trails, every corner offered something unique. Jessica and Zach’s wedding portraits truly captured their love for one another and the natural beauty of their surroundings.

While capturing their portraits, a light rain began to fall, but instead of disrupting the day, it added to the atmosphere. Armed with clear umbrellas, Jessica and Zach leaned into the moment. Their rainy wedding photos created some of my favorite candid and romantic moments.

Scotland Destination Wedding

Destination weddings naturally create space for connection. When you travel somewhere new, step away from routine, and spend multiple days together, the experience becomes about more than just the wedding day. It is a shared experience that focuses on presence, connection, and memories. That’s exactly what this weekend was – an intimate, joy-filled celebration in the Highlands of Scotland, surrounded by the people who matter most.

Congratulations, Jessica and Zach! Thank YOU for inviting me to such a momentous day for you and your families. It was absolutely my honor to be with you and capture your incredible wedding weekend.
