Wedding Venues Hudson Valley, NY: Your Guide to the Maker Hotel
The Maker Hotel is a gorgeous, chic wedding venue, making it the perfect setting for a posh, intimate celebration. It is housed within three historical buildings that combine 19th-century design, La Belle Époque, Art Deco, and Mid-Century periods. The glass conservatory is the ideal spot for your ceremony, and after, you and your guests can spread out between the library, lounge, bar, conservatory, and the outside courtyard to enjoy the rest of your celebration.
The hotel has impeccable style, architecture, an old-world-meets-new-world vibe, and gorgeous art. The art on the hotel’s walls and the design are part of its charm. The art ranges from original prints by famous artists to lesser-known works – no detail is overlooked when it comes to hospitality, design, or art.
Everything in the hotel blends seamlessly and beautifully. One reason I adore this hotel is that there are endless photo opportunities with its vintage decor, in the rooms, on the gorgeous staircase, in the conservatory, etc.
You can have up to 100 guests for a non-seated dinner, and for a seated dinner, 50-60 guests. Accommodations are also available on site. The hotel also offers catering, bar services, and event planning services to make your day as easy and stress-free as possible.

Ari and Justin’s Beautiful Fall Wedding in the Hudson Valley
Ari and Justin planned a stunning October wedding in the Hudson Valley. When I first connected with them, they had a very clear wedding vision of what their day would look like: natural, romantic, cozy, simple, classy, and lots of candles. Their day was exactly that.
Getting ready
Justin and Ari’s day started with Ari getting ready with her bridesmaids and her close female relatives at The Maker Hotel in Hudson, while Justin got ready at a separate location nearby. While Ari and Justin’s ceremony wasn’t at The Maker Hotel, I still loved photographing Ari here and exploring the hotel with her.
The hotel has so many inspiring spaces that sparked my curiosity and creativity. It was the ideal spot for Ari to get ready, as The Maker Hotel was only 20 minutes away from their wedding venue.
Once they were both ready, they headed to their wedding venue, where they shared an intimate and heartfelt first look together. After their first look, we wandered through the property and took and took couple’s portraits featuring the golden fall foliage.
The fall in the Hudson Valley is an enchanting time of year to plan your celebration, as a vibrant color palette will surround you, and you’ll encounter cool, comfortable temperatures at this time of year.

The ceremony
We then headed to their ceremony, which was outdoors at the venue’s most popular ceremony spot – The Wooded Glade. Ari and Justin had a gorgeous ceremony surrounded by all their loved ones, and they exchanged their “I do’s” in front of a stunning floral arch designed by Athabold.
After their ceremony, Ari, Justin, and I headed to a golden field full of tall grass that overlooked the Catskill Mountains. This is where they did their golden hour photos.
Something to note – this spot is a bit of a hike from where everything else is at the venue (reception/ceremony/cocktail hour), but it’s absolutely worth carving out time in your wedding timeline to take photos here.
Ari and Justin grabbed a golf cart to ride over to this spot, which was perfect for them as they could take a moment to be fully present with each other while being surrounded by beautiful scenery. I always think it’s a good idea when couples add in time for golden hour photos – it’s a brief moment to step away, just the two of you. Your day goes by so fast! Carve out some time to bask in the quiet in between moments of your day where you can both be present with one another.

The reception
We then headed back to the restored 19th-century dairy barn for their reception. The space had been transformed, with the long wooden farm tables draped in white cloths and covered with taper candles in glass hurricanes, and the wooden beams adorned with greenery garland, creating a cozy, warm ambiance.
We were gifted with the most perfect fall day for Ari and Justin’s celebration, and this beautiful wedding had so many heartfelt moments throughout. I am grateful I got to be a part of it.
