Before Justine and Alex’s wedding day at Deer Mountain Inn, their guests gathered just down the road for a wedding welcome party at Scribner’s Lodge. It was a relaxed evening in the Catskill Mountains. For many of their guests, it was their first introduction to the Catskills, so Justine and Alex wanted their welcome party to feel like the beginning of the weekend rather than simply another wedding event. They envisioned something relaxed but elevated, where everyone could settle in, enjoy the beautiful setting, and spend time together before the wedding day arrived. The Scribner’s Garden was the perfect venue.
Garden Wedding Welcome Party at Scribner’s Lodge
Scribner’s Lodge has an incredible view of Hunter Mountain from the outdoor garden area. The garden itself added a whole other layer to the setting, with raised beds and colorful flowers surrounding the patio. It provided a gorgeous natural setting as everyone gathered together for the evening. The combination of the blooming flowers, stunning mountain views, and twinkling lights overhead created such a romantic, intimate atmosphere.
There is something special about a wedding welcome party. Everyone is arriving, settling in, and seeing each other for the first time before the busyness of the wedding day begins. There is excitment in the air as everyone is dilled with anticipation for the events ahead. Welcome parties give everyone a chance to slow down and simply be together. There is no real timeline like on a wedding day so there is ample time to mingle, converse, and enjoy the moment, which is exactly what Justine, Alex, and their guests did. It was a beautiful way to welcome everyone to the Catskills and set the tone for the weekend ahead.
The Perfect Prelude to Their Wedding Day
I love when a wedding weekend feels like a complete experience rather than just a single day. With delicious food catered by Scribner’s, guests were able to enjoy food and and the company of loved ones while admiring the natural beauty that surrounded them.
The weekend began with breathtaking mountain views and continued with their rehearsal dinner and wedding at Deer Mountain Inn, while also giving their closest friends and family plenty of time to enjoy being together. With Deer Mountain Inn just down the road, the two locations worked wonderfully together.
