Back in September, I ventured out into the suburbs of Albany to witness an incredibly intimate elopement at the groom’s log cabin. The property had been kept in the family for generations. When David inherited it, he decided to rebuild a log cabin since the one standing was falling apart. The craftsmanship in this cabin is beyond what I have ever seen or envisioned in a “DIY” log cabin. And mind you, he did not have any experience building anything until this project. It was the PERFECT backdrop for a milestone day.

The day itself was cloudy and misty. It was quiet on this Friday morning as I drove up to the log cabin. All elements to be an incredibly romantic day. Once I found the home, I actually drove deeper into the woods a bit to scope out some locations to shoot at later and literally put the car in reverse when I saw a beautiful patch of light beaming through the umbrella of trees. I was really hoping that Lindsay and David would be adventurous enough to follow me into the woods. And I’m soo grateful that Lindsay was willing to take her Jimmy Choos and her Reformation wedding dress and all into the woods 🙂 We ended up with the most beautiful photos from their portrait session.

Congrats Lindsay and David! Thank you so much for trusting me to lead you both into the woods!
