Ellen and Ben met when they were 19 rowing for the women and men’s team at Boston College. While they may have had nicknames for each other like “ice queen” BEFORE they officially connected, it was clear that the nicknames wouldn’t stick for long, and 10 years later, they made it official on the shores of Otsego Lake at The Otesaga Resort Hotel.

While Ellen and Ben maybe opposites in some aspects; Ben has cold pizza in the morning while Ellen may have a plate full of fruit with a side of Kombucha, it’s clear that harmonization with things that may seem different can really create something beautiful. And that really came to fruition on their wedding day on Saturday. They had a vision of “fall pastels” which may sound contradictory but came together through the beautiful displays that Gypsy Blooms Florals created to match that incredible vision. From Ellen’s stunning Ines Di Santo gown to Ben’s suit from Blank Label, their well thought out invitations and rowing stamps; there was no detail left unturned. With the backdrop of idyllic Cooperstown, home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and the leaves just starting to change, you could not have asked for a more beautiful day!

But besides all the details, these two families are amazing. Ellen’s dad may have hopped (literally) over to his family formals and Ben’s dad may have given us a little glimpse into what it was like to quarantine with his son and future daughter in law at the start of the pandemic; after Saturday, you know you will have a case of fomo if you’re not invited to future family gatherings. There is sure to be a lot of laughter, and a lot of Manhattans (or maybe not anymore!)

Congrats Ellen and Ben! I had SO MUCH fun hopping into your family for the day. Cannot wait to dive into more of your wedding but here are just a few!
